Winter hiking and
Snowshoeing
A snowy winter forest, away from the ski slopes. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the winter sun. Stop and take a deep breath of fresh mountain air. That is also a winter vacation and very relaxing. We have listed a small selection of the possibilities to get to know winter from another side, for your here:
Panoramic hiking trail at 2.300m.
The Königsleiten cable car takes you up to 2.300 m above sea level, where the new panorama hiking trail begins in a northerly direction towards the "Ochsenkopf". 2.5 km of cleared winter hiking trail through snow-covered slopes and with a unique panorama. Definitely an impressive experience away from the slopes.
Planet hiking trail
The planet hiking trail is also cleared and leads around Königsleiten, about 4km long. The path leads through snowy forests and offers again and again impressive views towards the Hohe Tauern and the Zillertal Alps. You can continue the hike towards Ronach or towards Gerlosplatte.
Snowshoe hike
Snowshoe hikes offer an even more intense experience of nature, because you can go off the cleared winter hiking trails.
You can participate in guided snowshoe hikes or explore the winter wonderland on your own.
Snowshoes and ski poles can be rented from us.
Every week 3 guided snowshoe hikes, for beginners and advanced, are offered.
Romantic torchlight hike at the Krimml waterfall
Experience the natural spectacle Krimml Wasserfälle in the glow of lights. Your companions will give you valuable impressions in nature. Look forward to performances by the Krimml brass band or the Krimml Schuhplattler. The Krimml innkeepers invite you to a small drink. Meeting point: Every Wednesday, 8:30 p.m. at the Music Pavilion Krimml (from Christmas to Easter).
Hiking at the dam
It is best to park your car at the Sonnwendkopfbahn. There you can put on your snowshoes after about 100 m and start your hike around the Durlaßboden reservoir. If you are sure-footed, you can also hike with normal winter shoes, but the path is not cleared. In the foreground the snow-covered lake, further back the Wildgerlostal with the Reichenspitze - what a panorama! After about an hour, you reach the Gerloser Seestüberl, where you can stop and take the ski bus back. If you are still fit, you can continue to Gasthof Finkau and stop there. You can return from there via a cleared road. The entire round has a length of 11 km.
There would still be a lot of suggestion, which we will gladly explain to you on site.
